Where to measure?

A: Collar

Measure the circumference halfway down the neck (point A). This is where you measure the neck size for traditional and padded collars.

B: Half-Check

Measure the circumference at the top of the neck, below the head (point B). This is the thinnest part of the neck. This prevents the dense half-check from sliding over your dog’s head.

The circumference of a closed half-check determines the size (ring-to-ring).

C: X (no measuring point)

Do not measure the neck size at the bottom of the neck, at the nape of the neck. You run the risk of the collar or half-check being too large. This is because your dog’s neck is relatively wide at point C.

How to measure?

With a tape measure
  1. Measure the circumference of the neck at the right spot (see illustration).
  2. Do not pull the measuring tape too tight. Always measure with two fingers under the tape measure.
With an old collar

Do you have a used collar for your dog that fits well? Then you can use it to determine the correct size.

Measure the distance between the buckle and the hole you are using (D). This is the neck size.
